Charter

Beginning our roots as the Elite Royal Guard and then a Secret Society of Protectors has given the members of Roisin Dubh a certain set of qualities and High morals. It is these qualities that will be sought after in other individuals:

VALOR

By definition it is a boldness or determination in facing great danger, especially in battle. This boldness is what gave the motto, "Die with Style!" You will never see the likes of any Roisin Dubh member running in the face of Danger. They will and must infuse themselves to the very core with the extremist version of this concept and let it permeate all of their prowess on the battlefield, especially when defending the realms. If the call is made to Defend the Realms and it's places of Power, then One must heed this and make haste.


RENOWN

Renown is the key quality of any Roisin Dubh member. Renown is the fame by which a person or group is known for his virtue. It is not glory nor honor, but the reputation earned through the pursuit of virtue. Renown is earned through selfless deeds. It will provide you with a type of armor that will defend you should you fail at a task or promise; provided that you continue to strive for excellence, keeping the virtue of humility close to the heart, so that the person does not fall victim to the evil seed called Vainglory. Vainglory lies buried deep in a persons character and it grows infected and undetected, swelling a man's breast with boasting and bravado, robbing him of the perspective to take a better view of his motivations and Armored Renown. We as Roisin Dubh members will fail at tasks and every once in a great while we will fail each other. You can expect the Body of Roisin Dubh to remain strong and to shroud the individual that failed with warm greeting arms, for our renown only deserves that shelter.


CERTITUDE

It is simply meant to mean "the truth." The truth is what drives us to an understanding of the forces that inspire us to greatness. A certitude is obtained by all of the members of Roisin Dubh which gives us an insight into our place in this world. We all know of the magical forces that are constantly at work in our world, that shape and mold our ways of life. It is readily known that our understanding of the Certitude of the natural forces and the Gods that rule them. We must know this Truth and accept it as our undying and untapped reservoir of Power.


INTEGRITY

By definition it is the adherence to moral and ethical principles and a soundness of moral character. It indicates a state of honesty amongst interaction. This is one of the primary Quality that will be judged as a Roisin Dubh member. It is a way for us to carry ourselves; with a head held high and emitting an aura of Integrity. It is by such high moral and ethical fiber that the name of Roisin Dubh will become synonymous with the core value of Integrity. A breach of integrity is a serious threat to the reputation that we wish all of Empire to know us for.


DEVOTION

Roisin Dubh members are expected to have a profound dedication to the True royalty of our realm as well as that of the Natural Spirits of our Realm. This dedication surpasses that of just plain loyalty and moves toward the devotionistic ideal. You are to have a devotion to all of our world, but most of all, a devotion to all members of Roisin Dubh. All Deviations to this are to be addressed immediately, after all, we are but one Cause and one Sword's Edge and one Enraged stare into Death's Eye. As one devoted cause and one fused devotion of truth, We shall become the true protectors.


HOMAGE & FEALTY

This old term is literally a contract between a Lord and a Vassal that provides a mutual relationship with benefits to each faction. The concept that protection will be given and provided for the masses in return for the common man's efforts of a workday is an ancient one. Roisin Dubh was selected to be the protector of the common folk. They were given the task of keeping the common folk safe and free from any and all threats to the sanctity of a quality life. This duty is freely accepted by all of the Members of Roisin Dubh willfully and without regrets of any kind.


EXPLOITS

There is ZERO tolorance policy toward our members using exploits and/or cheats in any way.


By putting these concepts and qualities to work and living each day by these ideals, one will be setting an example for all others to follow. We have set a high bar because we are the best, we are the same Protectors of Hibernia that shall once again serve under the one True King and prosper till the ends of time.)



Charter - OOC

This is an excerpt of original OOC charter posted by Quiver :

    I am not concerned about player class or rank. To me, the most important thing is to have good people. You won't be pressured into levelling, or anything else for that matter. I am looking for people with a good sense of humor, people that we can feel comfortable with and who can feel comfortable with us. A happy guild is more desirable to me than a power guild or uber-guild, yet many of us are progressing through the levels at a good rate and soon we will become a presence in RvR activities on a regular basis. Again, no pressure to join in RvR or anything else that you don't feel comfortable with. If you want to remain level 1 and just make us smile that's fine with me.

To that, I would add :

    This is a game, and games are made for enjoyment. Enjoy your time on Warhammer, on Ostermark, and in Roisin Dubh. Treat others with respect. That includes the enemy! Realm-mates are your allies, guildmates are your family. We are on a roleplay server, so please try to set an example to others. This should mean staying in-character for /say. In a group with other roleplayers, this should extend to /group.
